First time runners and parents:
Welcome! There is a map attached
to this email so you can get an idea of what the course looks like and where
spectators can stand. A lot of the courses zig zag or double loop so
you will have several opportunities typically to see your runner, so don’t
worry if you miss them once. Odds are
good you will see them a few more times.
Don’t be bashful, ask other parents who have been to the meets before
where the course goes or where good spots are to view. With that being said, the Apollo course is
new this year, so we will all be in the same boat for the first meet. However, other than the CLC Meet in Sartell,
all of the courses we have run before.
Races are run one after another and are typically on schedule. Athletes, please listen to your coaches and
captains about what you need to do to get ready in warm ups and where you need
to be as your race start approaches. Middle school/junior high parents and
athletes: your distance will vary from
meet to meet but will never exceed 3200 meters (2 miles). Junior Varsity and Varsity athletes: your
distance will always be 5000 meters (3.1 miles)
