Storm CC Pot Luck - Monday August 27
Just a reminder of the Storm Pot Luck that follows the Apollo Early Bird Meet on Monday, August 27th.
The pot luck is for BOTH the athletes and their families. It will be held at the Wright's: 143 Frontier Court in Sauk Rapids. The Wright's are the second house (yellow) on the right side of Frontier Court just off of 2nd Avenue North between 10th St North and Pleasant Ridge Drive (the street that runs from Jimmy's all the way to the Holiday Station on Highway 15 and 18th Street Northwest - 2nd Avenue runs parallel with Benton Drive and the river).
Please bring the following: a dish or two to share, your own drinks and a lawn chair or two just in case we are not able to accommodate everyone with a chair.
Please RSVP to Tim Wright as soon as you can whether or not you will be attending, how many from your family will be attending and what you will be bringing to share. Tim's email address is: twright1@progressive.com.

Storm CC Night at Endurunce Shop Reminder
Just a reminder: the first of two Storm CC Nights at the Endurunce Shop is set for Thursday August 16th.
Our runners are entitled to a 25% storewide discount all day!
From 4-8 pm, there will be prizes and give aways and there will be product representatives from the different shoe companies present to assist as well. The Endurunce Shop staff is very experienced and can help you select the right shoes and clothing for your athletes!
The Endurunce Shop has just moved to their new location at 117 5th Avenue South right next to Brothers Bar and Grill. If you have any questions, you are welcome to call them at: 252-5262.

Tim Wright addressed the parents and athletes at the Fall Sports meeting on August 7 and provided a schedule of upcoming team events and discussed the need for volunteer help. Please stay alert for incoming emails from Tim and updated Blog entries about the specific events.

2012 Parent Meeting Summary
Coach Zeilenga addressed a large group of runners and parents on the evening of August 7 to go over several important items for the group.
The coaches were introduced and contact information was provided.
Information on the Central Lakes Conference website was provided.
Parents and athletes were encouraged to frequently check our own Storm CC Blog.
Expectations were given for attending weekday and Saturday practices.
Reminders were given to get all paperwork into the high school office BEFORE the first practice
and payment before the first meet.
Reminders to the students to bring locks for their lockers.
Expectations for riding the bus to and from the meets and what is needed before athletes are allowed to ride with their parents. (including staying until the very end to support their teammates and competitors)

Coach Zeilenga released our practice and meet schedule last night at the parent meeting. She will pass the schedule out to the runners at the first practice for those who did not receive it at the meeting.

We will continue to host our home meet the first Thursday of the school year and will return to Apollo, Little Falls, Kimball, Paynesville, Willmar and Tech as well. Litchfield replaces St. Michael-Albertville on the schedule due to STMA's moving the date of their meet. Conference will be at Fergus Falls (get ready for hills!) and Sectionals at Bemidji this year.
As always, the schedule is subject to change and we recommend frequent visits throughout the year to make sure you know of any schedule changes.

Our last Sunday night run (already? yikes!)
Our last Sunday night run will be this Sunday August 5th at 7 pm at Sauk Rapids Municipal Park (where the annual Food Festival is held) as practice is set to begin on Monday August 13th.
