Thank you to all of you who have already replied and let me
know you can help volunteer at the meet! I would still like a few more
volunteers so I can make sure the parents can watch their runner’s race and not
miss it. If you can help, please contact me at twright1@progressive.com.
I plan on meeting the volunteers at 4:10-4:15 near the
starting line on Thursday. The middle
school races start at 4:30, so we need to get the volunteers out to their spots
on the course right away. I would like
to have high school parents work the middle school races and the middle school
parents work the JV and Varsity races if at all possible. If we get enough volunteers, we shouldn’t have
to have anyone work more than two races (approx 45-60 minutes).
Volunteers, please make sure you are armed with bug spray
and sun screen just in case. The gnats
have been pretty bad the last few years.
The current National Weather
Service forecast is:
A
30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1pm and 4pm.
Partly sunny, with a high near 77. South wind 5 to 15 mph becoming west
northwest in the afternoon.
(If we are lucky, hopefully the storm system will pass before the
meet and we will cool down and dry out.)
Secondly, we are having a pot luck following the award ceremony in
the High School commons. You can keep
your food in the Career Center room on the first floor of the high school while
the meet is going on. It is located between
the Performing Arts Center and the Commons.
Families of the runners are also invited. Please bring a dish or two to share with the
group.
See you all on Thursday. Go
Storm!!
